We encourage residents to become involved in the policy making process of City government. More than 70 volunteers serve on the City's 15 advisory boards, authorities and committees. Anyone interested in a board, authority or committee appointment should obtain an application form from the Clerk's office, Municipal Building.
City of Americus
The City's annual budget is presented to City residents during a public hearing held in November. For more information about the City budget, contact the Chief Administrative Officer.
The City requires inspections for construction, heating, air conditioning, mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. For more information, contact the Building Risk Management Department.
The City requires a building permit for the construction of any new building or the alteration of an existing building. A permit is also required for the installation of signs, swimming pools, garages and other building modifications.
