The Finance Director manages the City’s financial resources and safeguards the assets through appropriate controls and accounting practices.
Major areas of responsibility include Budgeting, Annual Financial Statement Preparation, Administration of Property Taxes and Tax Collection, Customer Service, Business Licenses, Utility Billing, Utility Services, Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable.
The Department is comprised of Administration and two sections: Accounting and Utility Billing. These sections handle accounts payable, payroll, asset management, revenue collections, financial reporting, and some grant management.
Our office hours are from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Fridays. We are available from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily for telephone assistance.
We are all located in the City of Americus Customer Service Center at 217 W. Forsyth Street in the City of Americus, Georgia.
